RWENZORI “MOUNTAINS OF THE MOON” CLIMB /10 DAYS – 9 NIGHTS

Day one:
Arrive at the Airport on morning flight, you will be met and transferred to Mbarara for Lunch before heading for the foothills of the mountains of the Moon. Check in at the Margherita Hotel for dinner and overnight.

TRANSIT TIME 7 HOURS

Day Two:
Morning, transfer to Nyakalengija on to Ibanda to start your 5-6 hour Climb into the Mountains. You climb through the thick vegetation arriving at the Nyabitaba Hut(2650metres) in the late evening for dinner and overnight.

TRANSIT TIME 1 HOUR.

Day Three:
Breakfast Early, then start a morning hike through the Kurt Sharfer Bridge to marvel at the Mobuku River Confluence. A Climb through the Open Patches and Lobelia and the Heath Moss Forest before proceeding up to the John Matte Hut for overnight.(3,414m)
 

Day four:
Depart early through the Giant Lobelias and the Heath trees. You ascend to the Bigo Bog and Scenic Landscape of Lobelias, Giant Groundsels. Dinner and overnight at Bujuku Hut (3962m)

Day five:
Leave the Valley in the Beautiful Vegetation consisting of Giant Groundsels and Lobelia through the lovely views of the Savoia and head on an ascent to Elena Hut (4,430m)

Day six:
Depart very early through the snow and proceed to the final Ascent of o the Alps of Africa. The sun rise should get you after the ascent of Margherita Peak (5109m). Later, Return to Elena Hut for Overnight

Day seven:
Thereafter, descend to the beautiful Lake Kitandara for overnight at the Kitandara hut.(3900m)

Day eight:
Descend early after breakfast and picnic lunches proceeding to Guy yeoman Hut for dinner and Overnight.

Day nine:
Descend to Nyabitaba and proceed to Ibanda and check in at the Margherita Hotel for Overnight

Day ten:
Travel to Kampala and proceed to Entebbe Airport for your evening flight out.
